Xplore Dundee has been recruiting some very special staff for the Christmas period – requirements for the job include: having a long white beard, wearing a red suit, ability to be jolly at all times and experience with reindeer.
It’s that time of year again when Santa gets behind the wheel for the local bus operator - he’s also bringing along a couple of elves to help this year, as so many youngsters across Dundee enjoy looking out for the seasonal staff! From 1st December until Christmas Eve they can be spotted driving various routes across the city and will be welcoming donations from customers and the general public for Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas campaign. The money is used to buy gifts for children in Tayside who would otherwise have none.
Anyone can donate to this campaign – there are tins on the buses being driven by Santa or his elves, a collection bucket is located at Xplore Dundee’s Travel Centre in Commercial Street, you can give online at www.justgiving.com/santabus2015 or you can text XDSB99 followed by either £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 to 70070.
Temporary driver Santa Claus said;
“Ho ho ho! I can confirm I have had my refresher training in customer service and health and safety, and that myself and the elves are now familiar with the new Xplore Dundee vehicles and timetables. We can’t wait to get back behind the wheel in Dundee! I hope customers of all ages will come and see us as we drive round the city and I would encourage everyone to give generously to this fantastic local charity, Cash for Kids. Merry Christmas!”
