Xplore Dundee is making some amendments to its bus timetables after reviewing its network of routes across Dundee. For a full summary, find details here.
From Sunday 14th August the operator will provide two brand new routes: Service 23 will be a Monday to Saturday off-peak service connecting Woodside and Dryburgh to Lochee, the City Centre and Kirkton Asda. Service 27 is another Monday to Saturday off-peak bus which will serve customers in Douglas, Lawside and Ardler, taking them to Albert Street, the City Centre and Kingsway Retail Park.
It’s hoped these journeys will provide a better option for customers who previously used Services 4 and 24, which are being withdrawn on the same date.
The new timetables will also reflect the changes to Dundee's school class timings - all school services are being rescheduled to match the new timetables introduced by the Education Department towards the end of last term. Additionally, there will be new services for Harris Academy and St Paul's Academy.
Full details of all route changes and new timetables will be available online and on paper at the beginning of August.
Xplore Dundee Managing Director Elsie Turbyne said:
“Reviewing our network is something we do on a regular basis to ensure we are providing the most reliable and efficient service possible.
“The process involves careful research and consideration, and we take into account a wide range of factors, including customer feedback and passenger numbers, as well as traffic patterns and the continual change and development of retail and residential areas.
“I know it can be tricky to adjust to changes of any kind, but I hope our customers will welcome these amendments and find them beneficial. We listen to what they have to say to us about their buses and we’ll continue to take all feedback on board for future reference.”
