Dundee’s main bus operator is providing increased services this Christmas and New Year. Xplore Dundee is also extending the times of its last buses on Boxing Day and 2nd January, in response to customer comments.
Managing Director Elsie Turbyne said:
“Based on passenger feedback from last year’s arrangements, we’re providing more buses during the festive week in between the public holidays. We’re hoping this will be of benefit to people travelling to work, to visit family or hitting the sales. Taking the bus really is the easiest way to get around Dundee this Christmas.”
Service levels between Christmas Eve and Monday 2nd January are as follows:
There will be no service as usual on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve will both see a normal Saturday service, with buses ceasing between 20:00 and 21:30
Between Christmas and New Year (with the exception of Boxing Day) buses will operate normal weekday service in order to provide early morning and late evening buses for those who will be back to work as normal
On Boxing Day and Monday 2 January, a Sunday service will operate, with buses ceasing between 19:00 and 21:00 - which means there will be more journeys operating later into the evening on these days compared to last year
Normal service will resume across the network on Tuesday 3 January - which means Monday-Friday services will come back into effect sooner in the New Year than last year
For a summary of the last buses home during the Christmas and New Year holidays, customers should visit the Xplore Dundee website or get in touch via social media. Further details and timetables are also available at the Travel Centre on Commercial Street.
