Our single journey fares are available to buy on-bus, and your fare is calculated based on the distance of your journey.
Each route in our network is divided into multiple fare stages – travelling within the extent of one stage would incur a Short Hop fare, whereas travelling between multiple stages would incur a Max Single fare.
The easiest way to find out how much your journey will cost is to ask the driver. Simply state your destination and your driver will tell you the fare required.
If you are making more than one journey per day, you may find it easier and more cost-effective to purchase a Daysaver, which is valid for travel all day on all services in the Xplore Dundee network (on the date of purchase).

*Concessionary travel for young people: the Scotland-wide concessionary travel scheme for young people entitles all 16-18 year olds and young full time volunteers up to the age of 25 to discounted travel on buses, trains & ferries throughout Scotland. The scheme provides a third off travel fares – although the discount for 16-18 year olds is already embedded in Xplore Dundee’s own young persons’ fares. For young volunteers aged up to 25, to get your concession card, you can get in touch with YoungScot by calling 0808 801 0338 (open 12.00 to 20.00), by e-mailing email@example.com or by visiting www.givememycard.org
Save money, time and hassle with our mTicket app. It’s cheaper than paper tickets, easy to use and free to download, so search ‘Xplore’ in your app store and you’ll be on your way.
With this simple tool on your smart-phone, you can pay with a cashless transaction - which means you’ll never need to scramble around for change on the bus ever again.
Note: Students and Young Scots need to carry a valid form of ID to verify eligibility when travelling with an mTicket. Students must present a matriculation card (with photograph and expiry date clearly displayed) and Young Scots should show their Young Scot card. Failure to present ID may result in being unable to travel.
