Investing in Ticketing Technology!
Travel Dundee, city's largest bus operator, has been working recently to evaluate the latest ticketing technology which is available to the bus industry.
After much research, the company is pleased to announce today that it has decided that the new Wayfarer TGX150 ticketing machine will be introduced to the Travel Dundee fleet later this year.
The new system will have Smartcard capability to record local concession passes and will be configured for Travel Dundee's own commercial ticketing products.
Jim Lee, Managing Director for Travel Dundee said: "We are keen to move forward and look to utilise the innovative technology which is now available within the bus industry. The new system which will be brought in on trial has the potential for increased capability and could give us improved methods for collecting a range of important data. We are confident that the new system will make the transition into our operations."
To date over ᆪ15 million has been spent on the bus system in Dundee with Travel Dundee delivering 18 new buses in November 2004.
