Re-launch of 9x / 10x Bus Service!
Travel Dundee are pleased to announce, the re-launch of their popular 9x / 10x bus service which operates from Ninewells Hospital to Broughty Ferry.
Jim Lee MBE, Managing Director of Travel Dundee said; "As part of our long-term commitment to our customers in Dundee and the surrounding areas, we are proud to be re-launching our new-look 9x / 10x bus service today. There is no doubt that everyone will notice the difference with the buses themselves which now carry a new eye-catching livery, but we have also taken steps to double the frequency of both the 9x and 10x to every 15 minutes which will give more travelling options to and from Ninewells Hospital, the city centre and the Broughty Ferry area. A further addition, which will enhance the flow of information to our customers, now has every bus shelter along the route featuring Real-Time Information displays which will give up-to-the-minute updates on when the next bus is due to arrive - all through innovative satellite technology. I'm sure this will be a vital project across the whole network as we move forward into the future.
Mr Lee added; "The safety of our staff and our customers also remains of paramount importance to us and therefore each bus is fitted with the latest digital CCTV equipment as part of our award-winning Safer Travel partnership with Tayside Police. Our customers on the 9x / 10x have been vital in helping us initiate these various, important changes and we will continue to work closely with them into the future."
Jack Henry, Chairman of Travel Dundee commented; "The re-launch of the service once again reflects our commitment to providing quality, accessible bus services in Dundee. The 9x / 10x corridor is of huge importance for us and our customers and we recognised the need to change elements of the route to coincide with changing travelling patterns and improve the service to the growing suburbs around Dundee, such as Forthill, Barnhill and the main Broughty Ferry town centre. The re-furbished buses have an eye-catching nautical theme to reflect the city's, and indeed Broughty Ferry's history with the River Tay and we're very pleased with the end result, we hope our customers enjoy using them. We are continuing to invest in several important areas of our business here in Dundee."
As part of the re-launch, Travel Dundee have also taken the unusual step and have unveiled a special email address specifically for 9x / 10x customers to feed back their views on the service - which will enable any issues to be acted upon promptly using modern technology and improving the information flow between customers and Travel Dundee. The new email address is 9x10x@traveldundee.co.uk and is there for ALL current or potential 9x / 10x customers to ask questions or raise any burning issues!
The buses are also in the process of being named after famous Dundee ships! - with the first being 'Discovery' and 'Unicorn'.
