Scottish Disability & Business Awards 2007
Travel Dundee, the city's largest bus operator, has today learned that the Company has been nominated for a 2007 Scottish Disability & Business Award.
Stuart Henry, Corporate Affairs Manager for Travel Dundee said; "We're delighted that we've been nominated for an award this year. Almost exactly three years ago, we became the first major bus operator in the UK to operate our fleet with 100% low-floor, easy access buses which obviously helps to ensure that our bus services are accessible for everyone in and around Dundee.
"We've been working very closely now for a number of years with the likes of the Broughty Ferry based MacKinnon Centre, a well respected Respite Centre which performs an amazing role in the community. Through this relationship and others, we have been able to ensure that people with disabilities have all the bus information they need to make a hassle-free journey, whilst at the same time being able to show what great benefits low-floor, easy access buses can bring."
Mr Henry added; "Our major drive is to make travel simpler for all and this doesn't just mean focussing on our operations or our marketing, but it means us being socially responsible and to listen and engage with everyone across the city. Being nominated for an award this year is an extremely proud moment for everyone at Travel Dundee."
