XCity Direct is launched

Cross-City Direct is a new bus service to provide improved public transport links for east-to-west travel in the City.

The service has been introduced by Travel Dundee and Strathtay Scottish in partnership with Dundee City Council, with financial support from the Scottish Executive's Bus Route Development Grant.

In addition to the new bus service, Cross-City Direct will allow the construction of a bus-only road between Ninewells Hospital and Dundee Technology Park which will greatly reduce bus journey times.

The new bus-only road between Ninewells Hospital and Dundee Technology Park is to be constructed during late 2005. During construction Services 13 and 14 will use the existing road network to serve the advertised bus stops. Once the new road opens, additional bus stops will become available along the route, details of which can be found on www.dundeetravelinfo.com
