Whether you want to get an evening away from revision or distract yourself from that 9am lecture, student nightlife is thriving in the West Midlands! Here are my top five exciting night-time activities you can do with friends in the West Midlands.
National Express West Midlands have made it quick, cheap and easy to enjoy the local student nightlife that is on offer. The Evening Group Saver can be bought on the mTicket app for just £4 and gives you unlimited use of National Express West Midlands and National Express Coventry buses from 6pm that day! It is available if you’re over 16, and on mobile only which makes it perfect for us students to enjoy our nights out without depleting our student loan or trying to keep hold of a paper ticket – just make sure that you charge your phone!
All of these night & evening out venues are accessible by bus from various different places and you can plan your journey here:
Get competitive and enter space with a futuristic night out to Laser Quest! Whether you’re playing in a team or going solo you are guaranteed to have a great time in the multi-level arena dodging lasers. It’s also perfect to safely get rid of some of that pent up rage you may have if your flatmate hasn’t done their washing up…
Plus, you can enjoy the student offer of 3 games for £13 instead of £17.95 or two for £11, just bring your student ID card. There are snacks available to buy, and plenty of local food establishments to finish your night off!
With three differently themed space courses, this is a must-visit place in Birmingham. With a discount for students, Mr Mulligans becomes an 18+ venue from 8.45pm giving it a perfect student night out feel! With classic food and drink options, great music and plenty of photo opportunities (who doesn’t want a selfie with a spaceman?!) I would definitely recommend an evening trip here!
For the more adventurous student, you can enjoy wall-to-wall trampolines and foam pits at Flip Out trampoline park in Oldbury, surrounded by funky graffiti walls. You can enjoy an hour of trampolining at 7pm, which will mean you can use the Evening Saver to get there! Perfect for an energetic evening, you can even take advantage of their 2-for-1 offer on a Wednesday, making it a great choice for a fun evening out in Sandwell.
For the music enthusiasts, Sunflower Lounge is a local music hotspot, with bands and artists playing almost every day. It’s right by Smallbrook Queensway so easily accessible via National Express West Midlands buses. Enjoy your night out with music from upcoming and established bands and DJs and dance the night away as Sunflower Lounge is open till 3am Friday & Saturday!
Finally, a classic student night out, Hollywood Bowl offers a student discount meaning you can test out your eye for precision, play a couple of games of bowling and grab a drink which will be brought straight to your lane! With a tasty range of mocktails and other drinks, neon lighting and a photobooth, this felt like a true student night out. Under a five-minute walk away from lots of National Express West Midlands bus routes and surrounded by food establishments this is a perfect evening out for those with a competitive edge!
Try somewhere new for your next student night out, jump on the bus and don’t forget to use the mTicket app for just £4 for an Evening Group Saver so you can make use of unlimited journeys starting from 6pm on the day!
