There’s a chill in the air around Coventry, and that’s not just for Halloween! With Coventry hosting home to some of the ‘most haunted’ places throughout England, we have put together 5 spooky places that are easily accessible by bus.
A pub known for great food and nights out, the Golden Cross pub in Coventry dates back to the 16th century, along with many ghostly sightings to this day.
With gluten free food to die for (pardon the pun!), the Golden Cross pub sets a great atmosphere for a Halloween autumnal feast with family or friends.
One of the city's oldest sites, the medieval St Mary's Guildhall has been a landmark in Coventry from around 1340. With reported sightings of a monk wandering around the site, along with a little girl and grey lady, many people have unexpectedly experienced feeling emotional, or felt an overwhelming sense of sadness when visiting the Guildhall.
Even though St Mary’s Guildhall is undergoing a little work at the moment, this should definitely be kept on your radar for when it reopens.
A converted watermill situated by the River Sowe, the Old Mill Hotel dates back hundreds of years, and was even mentioned in the Doomsday book. With lots of sightings of ghostly figures being spotted around the hotel, it’s a great place to get your ‘spook’ on this Halloween.

Located in the Old County Hall, the Establishment Bar & Grill is well known by locals for its ghostly residents. Formerly used as a medieval jail, with a gallows and it’s own cemetery, It’s believed that court officials and past prisoner’s shadows haunt the bar.
Open for food all year round, the Establishment Bar & Grill is a great place for some food, and maybe some hidden ‘haunted’ surprises!
