Each year most of us set ourselves New Year’s resolutions and more often than not they involve food and drink. A new, popular resolution that is growing each year is Veganuary. If you didn’t know what Veganuary is, it’s a 31 day challenge throughout January to only eat and drink plant-based goods. After a very indulgent Christmas period you may have decided to take part too so we thought we’d show some support by giving you a list of the best vegan places in Coventry to help you last until the end of the month!
Don’t worry, all these places are serving take out during lockdown so you can still enjoy their delicious food.
If Mexican food takes your fancy then these guys are a great option to kick off your Veganuary. Based in Earlsdon you can usually find them at the Hearsall Inn as well as now offering tasty takeaway tacos and drinks. As their tortillas are made from hand using natural, vegan ingredients as well as being sustainably sourced and gluten and GMO free you can have as many as you like! Vegan options at a chippy? We were surprised too. However, Sandy Fish Bar in Coventry has dedicated a whole section to vegan options and they are absolutely delicious. From vegan pies and pizzas to even vegan battered fish, they’ve got you covered! Check out their vegan menu here to see for yourself.
After many years as a successful street food vendor the guys at Dumpling King arrived in Coventry and we couldn’t have been happier. Offering delicious takeaway options the DK team have become a firm favourite in Coventry and even better they have vegan options! One of the most popular dishes is their vegan dumplings filled with shiitake mushrooms, coriander and mooli as well as their delicious vegan chow mein. Check out their menu here.
Of course we’d give you a sweet option! Having recently moved to Fargo Village, Brownie Box by Emily has already become a big hit and best of all she does vegan treats too! Her vegan millionaire shortbread brownies are unbelievably tasty, check out her website here.
We’re big fans of Leave it to Esmie and their ridiculously flavoursome Carribean food and you can be too as they have loads of veggie and vegan options. Their “Doubles'' are a big hit with vegan customers, think of two flatbreads filled with chickpeas, tamarind, mango chutney, green chilli sauce and a bit of salsa.
