Bavarian beer boosts Birmingham buses

National Express West Midlands has today reported a 10% increase in weekend patronage to Birmingham City Centre since the start of the German Market.  Nearly 10,000 additional journeys are being made by bus each weekend as people flock to the German Market and its bars.

National Express West Midlands stats show that thousands of people are coming in groups to the market, as sales of their group tickets such as evening five have seen significant increases.

The National Express West Midlands evening five ticket provides up to five adults with unlimited travel for £5 on evening services (after 6pm).

Peter Coates, Managing Director of National Express West Midlands said: “Our buses provide a great way to get into the city centre and enjoy the German Market; they are frequent, reliable and great value.  Our group tickets are proving really popular with people coming to enjoy the Bavarian Beer and Gluhwein, they are much cheaper than taxis and drop you nearer to the city centre in the cold weather.”
