Bus operator National Express West Midlands is reminding customers to check online for the very latest travel information before they set out in snowy weather.
With weather warnings in place for Tuesday morning (27 February 2018) in the Midlands, the transport company already has contingency plans ready to deal with the “Beast from the East”.
Tom Stables, Managing Director of National Express West Midlands, said:
“My garage teams will do their very best to keep the West Midlands moving through this week’s arctic conditions, and our plan is always to run normal services.
“But we must keep our passengers and our staff safe at all times, so we will be making judgments about which roads buses will run on according to local conditions at the time.
“We know it’s vital for our customers to have the most up-to-date information so they can make travel plans. The best place to find out what’s going on is our website and our Twitter feed. We will be constantly updating them in real time.”
National Express West Midlands is liaising with local authorities about gritting bus routes in all the seven boroughs.
