The Silverdale Warriors under 7s football team recently scored £300 towards brand new kit from the National Express Employee Charity Panel.
Keith Pritchard, a team leader at National Express West Midlands’ Walsall garage, gives up his own spare time to manage the Silverdale Warriors junior football team.
He applied to the company’s Employee Charity Panel and requested a donation towards new kit and equipment for the young team.
Every Friday evening Keith gives up his free time for training sessions. He also spends his Sundays supporting his under 7s at local matches.
Keith said: “I got involved with the under 7s Warriors because I wanted to support something inclusive which helps local youngsters learn about working in a team while building their confidence.
“It can be difficult to get new kit and equipment because of the costs involved, so we really appreciate the very kind donation from the National Express Employee Charity Panel. I think our smart new kit looks fantastic.”
The National Express Employee Charity Panel supports employees in their own charitable and voluntary work. The panel is made up of employees from around the UK divisions who meet quarterly to decide which good causes they will support. The panel has donated almost £123,000 to groups and charities actively supported by employees since it was launched in 2009.
