Buses will run up to every 10 minutes between Acocks Green and Edgbaston
Buses will run up to every 10 minutes between Gospel Oak and Birmingham
The good bits:
+ More buses will run through Moseley (1/1A)
+ New direct route to University / QE Hospital (1A)
+ Gospel Oak will get more and faster buses to and from the city centre (4A)
The bad bits:
- Gospel Oak will no longer served by the 1, but it will be served by the amended 31 and new 4A
The 1 / 1A will run up to every 10 minutes between Acocks Green and Edgbaston; from there the 1 will run up to every 20 minutes to Five Ways, and new route 1A will run up to every 20 minutes along Bristol Road and Aston Webb Boulevard to the University of Birmingham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
In Acocks Green, buses on the 1 / 1A route will run around a loop of Shirley Road, Dolphin Lane and Olton Boulevard East.
The new 4A will run from Gospel Oak along Severne Road and Gospel Lane to Warwick Road, then through Acocks Green and direct along the Warwick Road to Birmingham city centre. This means journey times will be quicker to and from Birmingham.
The 1A will serve the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and University of Birmingham using bus stops within the hospital main entrance.
