Services 45 / 47

There will be a small change made to the 45 route:

45  Longbridge – West Heath – Walkers Heath – Cotteridge – Stirchley – Birmingham

Buses will run up to every 12 minutes

The current route between West Heath and Birmingham will not change.

Between Longbridge and West Heath, buses on this route will use Coombes Lane and Groveley Lane instead of Longbridge Lane. Buses heading towards Birmingham will also serve Thurlestone Road and Edenhurst Road. This will replace areas served by the current 47 / 49.

The 47 will be modified to include the following routes:

For most, there’s only a small change:

47  Longbridge – Turves Green – Cotteridge – Stirchley – Birmingham

Buses will run up to every 12 minutes

For those in Cofton Hackett:

X20  Rednal – Longbridge – Northfield – Selly Oak – QE Hospital / University – Birmingham

Buses will run up to every 20 minutes

The good bits:

+ Turves Green will have a direct link to Longbridge Station and town centre, running up to every 12 minutes

+ Longbridge will have faster links to Kings Norton, Cotteridge and Stirchley

+ New X20 directly links Cofton Hackett to Northfield, University / QE Hospital and Birmingham city centre

+ New Platinum buses on route X20, offering premium comfort with extra legroom, wifi and USB points

The bad bits:

- Direct links between Cofton Hackett and Kings Norton, Cotteridge and Stirchley be replaced by those to Longbridge, Northfield, Selly Oak and the University / QE Hospital

The new 47 will run to and from Longbridge town centre. This is good news for those in Turves Green who will have a new, direct and frequent link to Longbridge. The new 47 will also run quicker between Longbridge, Kings Norton, Cotteridge and Stirchley than the current 45.

Coombes Lane, Edenhurst Road, Groveley Lane and Thurlestone Road will be served by the 45 to maintain direct links to Longbridge, Cotteridge and Birmingham city centre.

The new X20 will serve Cofton Hackett, offering faster, direct links to Longbridge, Northfield, Selly Oak, the QE Hospital / University and Birmingham city centre.

Information for those travelling to QE Hospital / University of Birmingham:

The X20 will serve QE Hospital and University of Birmingham using stops on Vincent Drive - located a short walk away near University train station - instead of the bus stops within the hospital main entrance. This is due to unpredictable delays caused by queuing traffic, and parking issues within the main hospital entrance.

Bus stops for QE Hospital / University
