5 ways to have the perfect lockdown Easter

There's still plenty you can do

We know another Easter celebration apart is not what anyone wanted but we’re here to make the most of it with 5 things you can do…

1) Give more than just an egg

Everyone knows we love to promote a local independent, so whether it’s a gift from one of your favourite restaurants, (we’re looking at you Esmie's and Basement Brown's) or chocolate treats from Choc n Roll.

Do your part this Easter and support a business that really needs you.

2) Show your artistic side

Great for kids big and small, unleash some creativity upon your household or bubble with Birmingham Museum’s under 21 art competition, Inspire ‘21. This year’s theme is ‘Nature and the environment', so it’s a fun way to create awareness for a great cause.

Struggling with other ideas for the kids? Our Activity Stop page on our website has plenty of fun worksheets to download and complete, including Bus iSpy, Bus Bingo and something special just for Easter. They’re perfect for any little fans of our buses.

3) Find some treasure

Ok, in the interest of false advertising, you might not find any real treasure but you will enjoy a great walk around your local area. have put together a host of fun, outdoor, socially distanced walks for all to take part in.

Discover parts of your home you and your family didn’t know about, get some fresh air and exercise and even be entered into a £100 monthly prize draw (treasure!). They have walks all over Coventry, Kenilworth, Leamington and beyond, so why not pick one today?

4) Visit another planet

With current travel restrictions in place, you may not actually be able to visit Mars this Easter, however, you can get pretty close with ThinkTank’s virtual planetarium show.

Explore the stars and planets with ThinkTank’s resident expert, Colin and even learn how to spot constellations in the real night sky! Book your tickets now though as they’re going fast!

5) Bake an Easter treat

Easter egg nest cakes are practically an institution in this country. Chocolate covered cornflakes and chocolate mini eggs together? What’s not to love?

Relive your own school memories and make some with the kids too with this easy recipe from the BBC. You might even need to make some extras for the ‘Easter bunny’...
