Finding great outdoor spaces in Coventry is something that everyone is looking for at the moment

Discover somewhere new for socially distanced activities such as family catch ups, dates with friends or just a change of scenery. Soak up the great British outdoors and take a look at some of the many places to explore throughout Coventry below.

Glorious green spaces

Lady Herbert's Garden
A grade II listed park and garden in the city centre, containing the remains of the Medieval city wall. Step back in time while still adventuring in the 21st century. Looking for something to do afterwards? Discover more about medieval Coventry with Treasure Trails, an exciting spy mission & treasure trail to be enjoyed by all ages.

Caludon Castle Park
Containing remains of Caludon Castle, wildflower areas and a play and multi use games area, Caludon Castle Park is a great place for history lovers and all of the family to enjoy. This park is also a perfect scenic spot for a picnic or socially distanced catch up with family and friends!

Hidden outdoor gems

Pig Wood
A short walk away from the bus stop, Pig Wood is a great woodland walk for explorers of all ages hidden away in the urban suburbs. A perfect place to discover wild forest plants and wildlife. Want to make a day of it? The Woodland Trust has a whole webpage dedicated to woodland activities to try. 

Coventry Canal Basin
Explore Coventry’s canal heritage, spot local wildlife on the water and have an on-the-go bite to eat from one of the local cafés. You can also take advantage of the great weather with the Art Trail which contains pocket parks, heritage trails and towpath improvements.
