Birmingham’s annual film fest is back for 2024 and bigger than ever. This year’s festival has 80 shows and events at venues throughout the city for 10 days from 10th-19th May. Far from a regular film festival, the boundary-pushing Flatpack spans art, tech, music and spoken word, showcasing transformative films and performances from all over the world.

Carrie - 17th May: Head to Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens as it’s transformed into an outdoor cinema for a screening of cult horror classic Carrie, complete with a high school prom-style reception! Black tie is optional….

Usaginingen: Black Kite – Pulsation of Souls - 18th May: Bringing their new work to the festival, these artists are known for their handmade machines and instruments and unique performance style.
Taking place at the Patrick Studio in the Birmingham Hippodrome you can catch several of our services to this event, just plan your journey here.
Short Film Competition: The BAFTA-qualifying short film competition returns, showing a number of short-form filmmaking featuring animation, documentary, experimental and comedy from around the world.
This event is taking place across a number of days of the festival at the Mockingbird Cinema in Digbeth. Hop on our 17, 50 and 60 services to take you to Digbeth.
Graham Reynolds: Music for Prophet (Parts 1-4) - 12th May: Richard Linklater composer and sonic adventurer Graham Reynolds performs his first solo EP at Kings Heath pub and gig venue Hare & Hounds.
Our 35 and 50 services can take you right to Kings Heath.
Made in the Midlands - 10th May: Kicking off the start of the festival is a focus on some of the amazing filmmaking that is taking place right on our doorsteps. Made In the Midlands will feature some incredible animations, documentaries and even a chip shop drama, all created in the Midlands.
