Diversion to services in Birmingham City Centre Saturdays from 7th September 2019

From Saturday 7th September 2019, a number of services will be diverted in Birmingham City Centre on Saturday daytimes only until further notice. This is due to delays to services caused by cars queuing along Park Street to access car parks in the city centre. Diversions will be in place between 11:00 and 17:00 only. At all other times and on other days of the week, buses will run as usual.

Services affected will be as follows: 

33, 51, 907, 934, 935, 937, 997, X3, X4, X5, X14 and X51

  • Buses will run as normal towards Birmingham until Lancaster Circus Queensway. 
  • They will then divert along St. Chad’s Queensway, Whittall Street, Weaman Street, Colmore Circus Queensway and Priory Queensway to Moor Street Queensway, from where they will rejoin their normal line of route to Carrs Lane or Corporation Street. 
  • From Birmingham, buses on these services will be unaffected. 
  • Towards Birmingham, the bus stop at Aston University, on James Watt Queensway, will not be served. Instead, buses will stop to set down passengers on Colmore Circus Queensway, opposite The Wesleyan.

65 and 67

  • Buses will run as normal towards Birmingham until Lancaster Circus Queensway. 
  • They will then divert along St. Chad’s Queensway, Whittall Street, Weaman Street and Colmore Circus Queensway to Priory Queensway, where they will terminate at their usual stop. 
  • From Birmingham, buses on these services will be unaffected. 
  • Towards Birmingham, the bus stop at Aston University, on James Watt Queensway, will not be served. Instead, buses will stop to set down passengers on Colmore Circus Queensway, opposite The Wesleyan.

60, X1 and X2

  • Buses will run as normal towards Birmingham and still terminate outside Primark on Moor Street Queensway. 
  • From Birmingham, buses on these services will divert along Carrs Lane, High Street, Albert Street and Moor Street Queensway to Park Street, avoiding congestion on the northern section of Park Street.
  • From Birmingham, the bus stop on Park Street, near to Masshouse Lane, will not be served. Instead, passengers can board and alight buses at the stops on Moor Street Queensway and in Digbeth, near to the markets.

  • Buses will run as normal towards Birmingham and still terminate on Moor Street Queensway.
  • From Birmingham, buses on the 17 will divert along Priory Queensway, loop back at Old Square and then run along Moor Street Queensway to Park Street, avoiding congestion on the northern section of Park Street.
  • From Birmingham, the bus stop on Park Street, near to Masshouse Lane, will not be served. Instead, passengers can board and alight buses at the stops on Moor Street Queensway and in Digbeth, near to the markets.

Please note that these diversions will only be in place on Saturdays between 11:00 and 17:00. At all other times and on other days of the week, buses will run as usual and all normal stops will be served.
