A38M Aston Expressway, Birmingham closure

From Thursday 30th April to Sunday 3rd May 2026, between 10pm and 6am, A38M Aston Expressway will be closed from Gravelly Hill to Birmingham City Centre for highway lighting works. During this time, services X3, X4, X5, X12, X13 & X14 will be diverted.

Services X3, X4, X5 & X14

Heading towards Birmingham

Buses will divert from Gravelly Hill, continue Salford Circus, second exit Lichfield Road, continue Lichfield Road, continue Aston Road and rejoin the normal line of route at Dartmouth Circus.

Heading from Birmingham

Buses will divert from Dartmouth Circus, second exit Aston Bridge, continue Aston Road, continue Lichfield Road, continue Salford Circus, and third exit Gravelly Hill to rejoin the normal line of route.

Services X12 & X13

Heading towards Birmingham

Buses will divert from Tyburn Road, continue Salford Circus, first exit Lichfield Road, continue Lichfield Road, continue Aston Road and rejoin the normal line of route at Dartmouth Circus.

Heading from Birmingham

Buses will divert from Dartmouth Circus, second exit Aston Bridge, continue Aston Road, continue Lichfield Road, continue Salford Circus, and fourth exit Tyburn Road to rejoin the normal line of route.
