Timetable and route changes from 29th August 2021

From Sunday 29th August there will be timetable changes across many routes in the West Midlands as traffic levels return to normal after the summer holidays.

    Birmingham

    1 | Acocks Green - Five Ways (via Springfield, Moseley & Cannon Hill Park)

    1A | Acocks Green - Q.E. Hospital (via Springfield, Moseley & Cannon Hill Park)

    Service 1A is being withdrawn and will be replaced by the new 41 service. There will be minor timetable changes to the 1 service.

     

    2 | Birmingham - Maypole (via Sparkbrook, Stoney Lane, Yardley Wood Road & Warstock)

    This service will no longer run past Warstock to the Maypole on a Sunday. Maypole will continue to be served on weekdays and Saturdays.

     

    4A | Birmingham - Gospel Oak (via Sparkbrook, Warwick Road & Acocks Green)

    This service will be extended to Solihull to replace the 31 service. There will be a change to the route in Gospel Oak with buses running along Pitmaston Road instead of Redstone Farm Road.

     

    12 | Dudley - Birmingham (via Oldbury, Langley & Bearwood)

    12A | Dudley - Birmingham (via Oldbury, Langley & Bearwood)

    There will be a route change with buses now running along City Road and Portland Road. This means the 12, 12A, 13 and 13A will now run along the same route between Bearwood and Birmingham, providing buses up to every 7 minutes. 

     

    20 | QE Hospital - Cofton Hackett (via Selly Oak, Northfield, Longbridge & Rednal)

    New service replacing the X20 between Cofton Hackett and Q.E. Hospital. Buses will operate up to every 20 minutes. This will not be a limited stop service with all stops along the Bristol Road now being served. 

    Customers travelling to and from Birmingham City Centre can change to the 61 and 63 services along the Bristol Road, or to the X21 and X22 at the Q.E. Hospital. 

     

    27 | Longbridge - Maypole (via Frankley , Northfield, Bournville, Stirchley, Kings Heath & Yardley Wood)

    This service will be extended from Longbridge to Cofton Hackett via Turves Green. There will be a route change in Frankley with buses running directly along Frankley Beeches Road, no longer serving Allens Cross. This area will be served by a change to the 61 service.

    Evening journeys will no longer run between Northfield and Longbridge. Services 61 and 63 will provide alternative links in the Frankley area during evening periods. 

     

    31 | Solihull - Acocks Green (via Shirley & Gospel Oak)

    Service will be replaced by the extension of the 4A service from Gospel Oak to Solihull. Between Gospel Oak and Solihull buses will be running up to every 30 minutes.

     

    32 | Shirley - Lyndon (via Acocks Green)

    There will be a change to the service in Gospel Oak and Hall Green. Buses will run directly along Shirley Road between School Road and Robin Hood island. Pitmaston Road will no longer be served as it will be covered by the 4A service. 

     

    38 | Erdington - Castle Vale (via Fort Shopping Park)

    This service will no longer run. The 96 service will continue to run every 30 minutes between Erdington, Holly Lane, The Fort and Spitfire island. 

    In Castle Vale, the 38 service will be replaced by an extension of the 67 service via Tangmere Drive, Yatesbury Avenue, Turnhouse Road, Baginton Road, Park Lane and Farnborough Road to the junction of Farnborough Road and Tangmere Drive.

     

    41 | QE Hospital - Acocks Green (via Edgbaston Cricket Ground & Moseley)

    This is a new service running between Acocks Green and Q.E. Hospital, replacing the 1A service. Buses will run up to every 30 minutes.

     

    45 | Birmingham - Longbridge (via Pershore Road, Stirchley, Cotteridge & West Heath)

    Service 45 Buses will now run along Coombes Lane in both directions. Thurlestone Road and Edenhurst Road will no longer be served.

    Service will extend to and from Lickey Road and stop outside Longbridge Retirement Village, picking up from the stop opposite. Buses will now run along Coombes Lane in both directions. Thurlestone Road and Edenhurst Road will no longer be served.

     

    46 | QE Hospital - Northfield (via Edgbaston Cricket Ground & Moseley)

    This is a new service replacing the 48 service between Q.E. Hospital, Selly Oak, Cotteridge, Hawkesley and Northfield. The 46 will run to the same route as the 48 between Q.E. Hospital and Northfield, with buses running up to every 30 minutes. 

     

    47 | Birmingham - Longbridge (via Pershore Road, Stirchley, Cotteridge & Turves Green)

    Service will extend to and from Lickey Road and stop outside Longbridge Retirement Village, picking up from the stop opposite.

     

    47S | St Thomas Aquinas School - Birmingham

    Service is withdrawn, route is covered by the 47 service.

     

    48 | West Bromwich - Weoley Castle (via Warley, Bearwood, Harborne, Q.E. Hospital, Kings Norton, Hawkesley & Northfield)

    There will be a route change from Q.E. Hospital to Northfield, via Weoley Castle. 

    Between Q.E. Hospital, Selly Oak, Hawkesley and Northfield, the 48 service will be replaced by the new 46 service.

     

    49S | Alderbrook School - Maypole (via Shirley)

    Ark Academy journeys withdrawn, route is covered by the 49 service.

     

    50S | Joseph Chamberlain College - Birmingham

    Service is withdrawn, route is covered by the 50 service.

     

    55 | Birmingham - Chelmsley Wood (via Washwood Heath, Ward End, Shard End & Kingshurst)

    This service will be renumbered as the 95. Buses on the 94 and 95 will combine along Washwood Heath Road to run up to every 4 minutes.

     

    61 | Birmingham - Frankley (via Bristol Road, Selly Oak & Northfield)

    63 | Birmingham - Frankley (via Bristol Road, Selly Oak & Northfield, Longbridge & Rubery)

    The route of the 61 service will change in the Allens Cross area. 

     

    67 | Birmingham - Castle Vale (via Aston Cross, Salford Circus & Pype Hayes)

    There will be a route change in Castle Vale to improve coverage of the area. Buses will run up to every 10 minutes from early morning until late in the evening, 7 days a week.

     

    80A | Birmingham - West Bromwich (via Ladywood, Cape Hill & Smethwick)

    The service 80A will be renumbered to the 80. There is no change to the route.

     

    94S | City Centre - Park Hall Academy

    Service is withdrawn, route is covered by X13 service.

     

    96 | Kingstanding - Chelmsley Wood (via Witton Lodge, Erdington, Fort Shopping Park & Castle Bromwich)

    Daytime buses will extend from Kingstanding to Old Oscott, replacing the 89 in this area. 

    There will be a route change between Kingstanding and College Road to serve Warren Farm.

    There will be a further route change between Castle Bromwich and Chelmsley Wood. 

     

    97S | CTC Kingshurst/International School - City Centre

    Service is withdrawn, route is covered by 97 service.  One journey will continue to start at Tile Cross Academy at 15.10hrs.  The journey from Tudor Grange Academy, Kingshurst will not operate and students are advised to use the 889 and 97.

     

    870 | Erdington - Plantsbrook School

    Service is withdrawn. X3, X4 and X5 services serve Erdington and Sutton New Road, which is a short distance away

     

    871 | Bromford - Castle Vale

    Service is withdrawn.

     

    878 | St Thomas Aquinas School - Longbridge

    Route will stop at Holly Hill, Frankley and will no longer run to Longbridge.

     

    X2S | City Centre - St Peters School

    Service is withdrawn, route is covered by the X2 service.

     

    X3 | Birmingham - Lichfield (via Erdington, Sutton Coldfield, Mere Green, & Hill Hook)

    X4 | Birmingham - Minworth, Asda (via Erdington, Sutton Coldfield, Falcon Lodge & Walmley)

    X5 | Birmingham - Roughley (via Erdington, Sutton Coldfield & Mere Green)

    The X4 service will change to run between Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield and Falcon Lodge only and will no longer continue to Minworth. The 71 service provides alternative links between Sutton Coldfield, Walmley and Minworth and the X14 service provides an alternative link between Walmley and Sutton Coldfield. 

    The X3 service will no longer run on Sundays. There will be additional journeys on the X4 and X5 to maintain the frequency of buses between Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield on Sunday daytimes. 

     

    X10 | Gornal Wood - Birmingham (via Russells Hall Hospital, Merry Hill, Cradley Heath, Halesowen & Bearwood)

    There will be a route change in Brierley Hill. Buses will run along Dudley Road and Wallows Road, replacing the 2A service. 

     

    X20 | Birmingham - Cofton Hackett (via Birmingham University, Selly Oak, Northfield, Longbridge & Rednal)

    Service is being withdrawn. New service 20 will cover journeys from Cofton Hackett to Q.E. Hospital.

     

    X21 | Birmingham - Woodcock Hill (via Birmingham University, Selly Oak & Weoley Castle)

    The X21 service will be extended to Bartley Green and Woodgate, restoring links to Adams Hill. Moors Lane and Hillwood Road will no longer be served as buses will run both ways along Woodcock Lane and Cromwell Lane.

    X70 | Birmingham - Chelmsley Wood (via Bromford, Castle Bromwich, Water Orton, Coleshill)

    The X70 service will be renumbered to the X13. Buses on the X12 and X13 will combine to run up to every 10 minutes between Birmingham and Castle Bromwich. 

     

    X70S | Chelmsley Wood - Coleshill School

    Service is withdrawn, route is covered by newly numbered X13.

    Black Country

    2 | Dudley - Merry Hill (via Brierley Hill & Russells Hall Hospital)

    2A | Dudley - Merry Hill (via Brierley Hill, Wallows Road & Russells Hall Hospital)

    Service 2 will now be extended to Wrens Nest, replacing the 27, 27A and 81 within the Wrens Nest area. From Dudley it will run along Priory Road, Hazel Road, Laurel Road, Summer Road, Maple Green, Parkes Hall Road, Eve Lane, Burton Road, Old Park Road, Wrens Nest Road, Summer Road, Laurel Road, Hazel Road and Priory Road. 

    Service 2A will no longer run, with all journeys operating as the 2 service and running directly along Pensnett Road instead of Wallows Road. Wallows Road will now be covered by the X10 service.

     

    6 | Walsall - Sutton Coldfield (via Aldridge, Little Aston & Mere Green)

    7 | Walsall - Leighswood (certain journeys continue to Castlefort) (via Aldridge)

    7A | Walsall - Castlefort (via Aldridge)

    6, 7 & 7A - Services 7 & 7A will combine to run to Castlefort at all times of the day. Services 6 & 7 will combine to run up to every 10 minutes between Aldridge and Walsall at busy times. Brookfield Road will no longer be served directly. 

     

    8 | Walsall - Brownhills (via Rushall, Pelsall & Clayhanger)

    8A | Walsall - Pelsall (via Rushall)

    9 | Walsall - Bloxwich (via Rushall & Pelsall)

    8, 8A & 9 - Service 8 will be extended from Brownhills Parade to Burntwood and Lichfield, replacing the 10A. From Smithy’s Forge, the service will run to the same route as the 10A through Chasetown and Burntwood to Lichfield. Brownhills West will no longer be served, however the 10 service will be increased to every 12 minutes in this area.

    Service 8A is being withdrawn.

    Service 9 will be extended from Bloxwich to Wolverhampton, replacing the 60. There will also be a change in Pelsall with buses running along Highfield Road North, Trevor Road and Wood Lane.

     

    10 | Walsall - Brownhills (via Rushall & Brownhills)

    10A | Walsall - Lichfield (via Rushall, Brownhills & Burntwood)

    10 & 10A - All journeys will run as the 10 service between Walsall and Brownhills West only. All journeys will run along Lichfield Road and Brownhills Road.

    Service 10A will no longer run with the extended route 8 now running between Brownhills Parade and Lichfield.

    Coppice Road in Walsall Wood will no longer be served. 

     

    12 | Dudley - Birmingham (via Oldbury, Langley & Bearwood)

    12A | Dudley - Birmingham (via Oldbury, Langley & Bearwood)

    There will be a route change with buses now running along City Road and Portland Road. This means the 12, 12A, 13 and 13A will now run along the same route between Bearwood and Birmingham, providing buses up to every 7 minutes. 

     

    17 | Dudley - Stourbridge (via Gornal Wood, Kingswinford, Ashwood Park & Wordsley)

    17A | Dudley - Stourbridge (via Gornal Wood Kingswinford & Wordsley)

    57 | Stourbridge - Wall Heath (via Wordsley, Rangeways Road & Kingswinford)

    Service 17 will now run directly along Jew’s Lane and The Broadway between Gornal Wood and Dudley, no longer serving Stickley or Milking Bank. These areas will now be covered by the 27 and 27A services instead. 

    There will be changes to the times on services 17A and 57.

     

    27 | Wolverhampton - Dudley (via Goldthorn Park, Sedgley, Gornal Wood & Wrens Nest)

    27A | Wolverhampton - Dudley (via Goldthorn Park, Sedgley, Gornal Wood & Wrens Nest)

    Services 27 and 27A will change to serve Stickley and Milking Bank, partly replacing the 17 service. Wrens Nest will no longer be served by these services, instead being served by the extended 2 and 82.

     

    31 | Walsall - Mossley (via Bloxwich)

    32 | Walsall - Lower Farm (via Bloxwich)

    From 29th August, National Express will continue to issue and accept Diamond’s range of tickets; however, we will no longer run to joint timetables.

    Between the 31 and 32 services, National Express buses will continue to run up to every 5 minutes between Walsall and Bloxwich, up to every 7 minutes to Mossley and up to every 15 minutes to Lower Farm. National Express will continue to provide an evening and Sunday service.

     

    40 | West Bromwich - Wednesbury (via Stone Cross & Friar Park)

    From 29th August, National Express will continue to issue and accept Diamond’s range of tickets; however, we will no longer run to joint timetables.

    National Express journeys will increase in frequency to up to every 12 minutes.

     

    42 | West Bromwich - Dudley (via Greets Green, Great Bridge & Tipton)

    43 | West Bromwich - Bilston (via Greets Green, Great Bridge & Princes End)

    From 29th August, National Express will continue to issue and accept Diamond’s range of tickets; however, we will no longer run to joint timetables.

    National Express journeys between West Bromwich and Tipton will change to run up to every 10 minutes. Buses will continue to Bilston. National Express will continue to provide an evening and Sunday service.

     

    48 | West Bromwich - Weoley Castle (via Warley, Bearwood, Harborne, Q.E. Hospital, Kings Norton, Hawkesley & Northfield)

    There will be a route change from Q.E. Hospital to Northfield, via Weoley Castle. 

    Between Q.E. Hospital, Selly Oak, Hawkesley and Northfield, the 48 service will be replaced by the new 46 service.

     

    60 | Wolverhampton - Bloxwich (via Bentley Bridge, Wednesfield & New Invention)

    This service will be replaced by an extension of the 9. Buses will run between Wolverhampton, Bentley Bridge, Wednesfield, New Invention, Bloxwich, Pelsall, High Heath, Rushall and Walsall. 

     

    80A | Birmingham - West Bromwich (via Ladywood, Cape Hill & Smethwick)

    The service 80A will be renumbered to the 80. There is no change to the route.

     

    81 | Wolverhampton - Dudley (via Woodcross, Coseley & Wrens Nest)

    There will be a route change between Roseville and Dudley. Buses will run along Vicarage Road, Sedgley Road, Birmingham New Road and Priory Road. Wrens Nest will no longer be served by the 81 service. Instead it will be served by the extended 2 and 82 services. 

     

    837 | Pelsall - St Francis of Assisi School (via Aldridge School)

    Service 837 is withdrawn. The 159 and 937 provide alternative links.

     

    529 | Wolverhampton - Walsall (via Willenhall)

    X529 | Walsall - Wolverhampton [Limited stop]

    The X529 service will no longer operate. The 529 will continue to run frequently between Walsall, Willenhall and Wolverhampton.

     

    X10 | Gornal Wood - Birmingham (via Russells Hall Hospital, Merry Hill, Cradley Heath, Halesowen & Bearwood)

    There will be a route change in Brierley Hill. Buses will run along Dudley Road and Wallows Road, replacing the 2A service.
