Buses and trams to mark national minute’s silence for victims of Tunisia beach attack

All National Express West Midlands buses and Midland Metro trams will observe the national minute’s silence for the victims of the Tunisia beach attack today at 12 noon.

Bus drivers will be asked to pull over to the side of the road - if it is safe to do so - to observe the silence. Midland Metro trams will stop at stations to observe the silence; customers will be informed by an on-board announcement.

National Express West Midlands staff at all ten of the operator’s local garages will also stop and pay their respects.

Peter Coates, Managing Director of National Express West Midlands, said:

“All of our vehicles and staff will join the national minute’s silence to remember those who lost their lives in Tunisia last week.  All drivers are requested to pull over at noon, and where safe to do so, before continuing with their journey.  We hope our customers will join us in observing this silence and paying our respects."
