Mallin Street, Smethwick closure

On Thursday 1st October 2026, from 9.30am to 3.30pm, St Paul’s Road/Mallin Street will be closed for carriageway resurfacing works. During this time, services 48 & 49 will be diverted.

Service 48

Heading towards West Bromwich

Buses will be diverted from West Park Road, left St Pauls Road, continue Cemetery Road, right Rood End Road to roundabout, second exit Birmingham Road, continue Oldbury Road to roundabout, and first exit Spon Lane South to rejoin the normal line of route.

Heading towards Hawkesley

Buses will follow the reverse of the above route.

Service 49

Heading towards West Bromwich

Buses will be diverted from Rood End Road, left to continue Rood End Road, right Birmingham Road, continue Oldbury Road, and left Spon Lane South to rejoin the normal line of route.

Heading towards Bearwood

Buses will follow the reverse of the above route.
