From Sunday 10th May 2026 for up to 18 months, there will be some changes to services 8A, 8C, 14, 94 & 95, including route diversions, whilst HS2 works take place on Saltley Viaduct. Journeys may take longer so plan your bus journey in advance and allow more time for travel.
8C towards Aston
Buses will divert from Adderley Road, continue to Washwood Heath Road, left Aston Church Road, left Heartlands Parkway and rejoin the normal line of route after the junction with Saltley Viaduct.
8A towards Bordesley Green
Buses will follow the reverse of the above route.
All bus stops will be served on the diversion route.
There will be no change to the frequency of these services.
Heading towards Birmingham
Buses will divert from Alum Rock Road, left Adderley Road, right Duddeston Mill Road, and rejoin the normal line of route after the junction with Devon Street.
Devon Street, Alderflat Place and Mainstream Way will not be served during this time.
Heading towards Chelmsley Wood
Buses will follow the reverse of the above route.
All bus stops will be served on the diversion route.
The frequency of Monday to Friday journeys will be every 7-8 minutes.
Buses will run every 8-9 minutes on Saturday daytime.
Sunday journeys will run every 12 minutes between 11am and 5pm.
Early morning and late night frequencies will be unchanged.
Heading towards Birmingham
Buses will divert from Washwood Heath Road, right Aston Church Road, left Heartlands Parkway and rejoin the normal line of route after the junction with Saltley Viaduct.
Heading towards Chelmsley Wood
Buses will follow the reverse of the above route.
All bus stops will be served on the diversion route.
Customers wishing to travel to or from Saltley Gate will need to change to services 8A & 8C at Washwood Heath Road or Nechells Parkway.
Monday to Friday journeys will run every 11-12 minutes.
Saturday journey frequency will remain the same at every 12 minutes.
Sunday journey frequency will remain the same at every 20 minutes.
