Well Street, Newtown closure

On Thursday 1st October 2026, from 7pm to 5am, Well Street will be closed between Hockley Hill and Lucas Circus for LED lighting works. During this time, services 8A, 8C & 52 will be diverted.

Services 8A & 8C

Service 8A towards Ladywood

Buses will be diverted from Lucas Circus, fifth exit New John Street West to Hockley Circus, first exit Hockley Hill, continue Great Hampton Street, and right Vyse Street to rejoin the normal line of route.

Service 8C towards Newtown

Buses will follow the reverse of the above route.

Service 52

Heading towards Birmingham

Buses will be diverted from Lucas Circus, fourth exit New John Street West to Hockley Circus, first exit Hockley Hill, and continue Great Hampton Street to rejoin the normal line of route.

Heading from Birmingham

Buses will follow the reverse of the above route.
