Well Street, Newtown closure

On Thursday 14th and Friday 15th May 2026, from 9am to 3.30pm, Well Street will be closed between Hockley Hill and Lucas Circus for LED lighting works. During this time, services 8A, 8C & 52 will be diverted.

Services 8A & 8C

8A towards Ladywood

Buses will be diverted from Lucas Circus, fourth exit New John Street West, Hockley Circus, first exit Hockley Hill, continue Great Hampton Street, and right Vyse Street to rejoin the normal line of route.

8C towards Newtown

Buses will follow the reverse of the above route.

Service 52

Heading towards Birmingham

Buses will be diverted from Lucas Circus, fourth exit New John Street West, Hockley Circus, first exit Hockley Hill, and continue Great Hampton Street to rejoin the normal line of route.

Heading from Birmingham

Buses will follow the reverse of the above route.
