With Peaky Blinders returning to our screens for a sixth and final series, we’re taking you on a ride to the top places every fan of Birmingham’s most beloved gang have to visit…
An obvious choice for our first stop, Black Country Living Museum is not only 26 acres of expertly built shops, houses and industrial hotspots from the past, but also one of the main filming locations for Peaky Blinders itself.
Travel through time as the museum is brought to life through colourful characters, billowing smoke, wild tales from the past and apparently the best fish and chips in the world!
Fans should also keep an eye out for Peaky Blinders Nights in September.
The home of the Peaky Blinders has changed a lot since the 1920s but you can still see flashes of post-world-war-one in its architecture and surroundings. Fans should pay homage at the now-derelict Garrison Pub on Garrison Lane, where the Blinders would meet, deal and socialise.
For a more modern side of Small Heath, you can catch a Birmingham City football match at St Andrew's, relax in Small Heath Park or sample local delicacies at Bedders Fish & Chips and the incredible cakes of Eis Cafe.
Although yet to be featured in the show itself, the Lickey Hills have been referenced on Peaky Blinders here and there. Accessible on our 20 service, the hills are a great space to enjoy a bit of tranquillity in a timeless setting.
Look out for the castle-like toposcope on top of Beacon Hill for incredible views of the city and as well as geographical insights.
Escape rooms have taken over Birmingham in the last few years, so it’s no surprise to find a popular Peaky Blinders-themed one right in the heart of the city.
On the edge of the Jewellery Quarter, Escape Live’s The Raid, tells the story of the leaders of the Peaky Blinders leaving the bookies in your hands. With a raid from Major Campbell imminent, are you able to find anything that incriminates the gang before it’s too late?
Escape Rooms can be very theatrical, so ensure you look the part to experience the game as it was intended!
The Peaky Blinder in Dale End has been offering punters a taste of the show, as well as a cold pint, since 2014. With staff in traditional ‘20s gangster attire, and an ethos of ‘no kids, no wi-fi’, this no-nonsense, city-centre pub is a traditional escape for folks after a hard day’s work or weekend tipple.
This new theatre production, which will be part of September and October’s Birmingham 2022 Festival, wades into the murky waters of Tommy Shelby and the Peaky Blinders’ past.
Take in the show like never before, with incredible displays of dance, as well as a soundtrack performed by a live band for a fully immersive experience.
With plans now confirmed that a Peaky Blinders film is on the way and plenty of filming will be shot in Birmingham, this could be your chance to be an extra in Peaky Blinders!
We don’t have much news to report yet but keep your eyes peeled as a new film studio will be constructed near the Peaky Blinders mural and Rainbow pub in Digbeth.
