There’s tonnes going across the West Midlands this summer! From music festivals to carnivals, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy. So we’ve put together a list of some of the amazing events taking place and to make it even better you can get to all of them by bus!
1. England vs West Indies test cricket match - 26th - 30th July
The cricket season is well and truly back and with so many amazing matches taking place at Edgbaston Stadium this summer it was hard to choose just one for our summer events list. However, we’re sure England vs West Indies will be a cracker of a game. Don’t forget we’ll also be running a shuttle bus service to and from the stadium throughout the summer!
As well as our shuttle services you can jump on our 1 bus route to get to Edgbaston Stadium too.
2. Good Food Show, NEC - 13th - 16th June
The tastiest show in town returns for the summer. Good Food Show is taking place at the NEC this June and it will include some incredible talks, live demos with celebrity chefs and lots of delicious food and drink exhibitors!
Hop on our X1 and X12 platinum service to get to the NEC.
3. Godiva Festival - 5th - 7th July
As one of the biggest music festivals in the region we couldn’t leave Godiva Festival off our summer events in the West Midlands list. This year is looking to be one of the best ever, with artists like Richard Ashcroft, Beverley Knight and Paloma Faith performing, you definitely don’t want to miss out.
Our National Express Coventry 9, 24 and 24A bus services can drop you off right at War Memorial park for the festival.
4. Harborne Carnival - 23rd June
Harborne high street will be lighting up again for this year’s Harborne Carnival. Featuring live music, arts and crafts, children’s activities, fairground rides and charity stalls running the length of the high street.
We have a number of services that travel to Harborne, hop on our 11A, 11C, 19, 23, 24 or 48 routes.
5. Birmingham Mela 2024 - 13th - 14th July
Head to Victoria Park in Smethwick this summer for the UK’s biggest South Asian music festival, Birmingham Mela! Having run for over 12 years, expect fantastic music, dance, food, arts and crafts and the sights, sounds and spicy aromas of South Asia from this amazing local festival.
Our 87 and 89 bus routes can take you straight to Victoria Park
6. Coventry Food Festival - 18th August
It’s not summer without a food festival and War Memorial Park in Coventry is hosting a great one! With local traders and food and drink from across the country this event will definitely be a popular one this summer. There will even be live music so not only will your taste buds be in for a treat - your ears will be too!
Our 9, 24 and 24A bus services can drop you off right at War Memorial Park for the festival.
7. Wolverhampton Dining Club - 1st June
Digbeth Dining Club’s Summer Tour is in full swing and they are hosting street food events across the whole of the West Midlands. One of their main events is Wolverhampton Dining Club at Bantock Park. There will be a huge variety of food on display from steak and tacos to pizza and curries.
You can get to Bantock Park on our 4 bus route.
8. Solihull Summer Fest - 20th - 21st July
Returning for its 8th year, Solihull Summer Fest is promising to be a feel good music feast for all the family. Boasting artists like Ronan Keating, Scouting for Girls, The Feeling and The Jacksons you definitely won’t want to miss out, and with lots of ticket options you can go for a day or the whole weekend.
Jump on our 6, 49 and 76 bus routes to get to Tudor Grange Park.
9. Mostly Jazz Festival 12th - 14th July
Moseley Park is back hosting the ever popular Mostly Jazz Festival this summer. Expect a diverse, vibrant jazz festival, celebrating ground-breaking, innovative UK music alongside international trailblazers. From Kool & The Gang to Kurupt FM there will be a wide range of music to suit all tastes.
Jump on our 1 and 50 bus routes to get to Moseley Park.
10. Made Festival - 3rd August
After 10 years of bringing the vibes to the West Midlands, Made Festival is back and returning to Digbeth. Taking place across a number of incredible venues in the area you can see the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Bru-C, 24HR Garage Girls and so much more this August.
We have a number of services that travel to Digbeth such as our 17, 50 and 60 bus routes.
