Breathe In, chill cut: Top parks to visit by bus in the West Midlands 🌳

Looking for some fresh air, fun and space to play? There are loads of lovely parks across the West Midlands and the best bit is, you can get to them easily by bus!

Whether you're planning a family day out, meeting friends, or just want a quiet walk, there’s something for everyone. No need to worry about parking or traffic, just catch the bus and enjoy the day.

Here are some of our favourite parks you can visit by bus:

🌼 Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham

This big, busy park has something for everyone! Families love the playgrounds, swan pedal boats, fairground rides (in school holidays), and the nearby wildlife park. There’s also a mini golf course and plenty of space to run and play.

✈️ Sheldon Country Park, Birmingham

This hidden gem has open fields, woodland walks and even a viewing area for watching planes take off from Birmingham Airport! There’s also a small farm with animals and a great playground.

🐿️ Winterbourne House and Garden, Edgbaston

A peaceful garden with beautiful flowers and hidden paths. It’s great for a calm family walk and a nice picnic.

🌺 Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Edgbaston

A colourful garden full of plants from around the world. Kids love the big glasshouses and the birds in the aviary. There’s a small playground too.

🌳 Priory Park, Dudley

A lovely open space with trees, grass, and a play area for children. It’s great for a quiet walk or some outdoor games.

🛶 Walsall Arboretum

This park has lakes, woodlands and great playgrounds for children. Families often come here for walks, picnics and fun in the fresh air.

🐕 Sandwell Valley Country Park

A great place for a full day out! Visit the farm animals, explore the playground, go cycling, or enjoy a walk in the woods. Kids love it here.

🌞 West Park, Wolverhampton

A traditional park with wide paths, a play area, a lake with ducks, and space to run around.

🏡 Bantock Park, Wolverhampton

This park has open spaces, a playground, a free museum and a lovely café. Great for a relaxed family visit.

🎭 Lightwoods Park & House, Bearwood

This park has a great playground, splash pad in summer, and a café for snacks and drinks. Look out for family events too!

🦢 Warley Woods, Smethwick

Part park, part woodland—perfect for exploring! There’s a playground, walking paths and lots of space for a kickabout.

🌼 Dartmouth Park, West Bromwich

Right next to Sandwell Valley, this park has gardens, play areas, and space for bikes, football and games.
