Top parks to visit across the West Midlands

We are home to the most beautiful parks in the West Midlands, but the question is which is the best park to visit? We’ve rounded up our top 3 parks to explore, so get your walking shoes on and let's get those steps in!

But first, let’s delve into some fun walking facts!

  • The average person walks at a pace of 3.1 miles per hour!
  • Did you know that walking sideways can burn more calories than walking forward?
  • Walking is a great mood booster and helps to improve your balance and coordination too.

War Memorial Park, Coventry

Explore the biggest park in Coventry, the War Memorial Park! Enjoy a leisurely stroll across the park where you can embrace the wildlife and scenery all around you.

Around the circular walking footpath, you’ll see the great Memorial Statue, Visitors Centre and even the Adventure Playground to keep the little ones occupied! If you want to put your strength to the test, check out the Outdoor Fitness trail, from hurdles to gate climbing there’s plenty to keep you going.

Remember to take some instagrammable shots of the park to treasure those memories!

Catch the 11, 12X or the 19 to get to the Memorial Park.

Coombe Abbey Park, Rugby

For the most scenic views, you cannot go wrong with Coombe Abbey Park.

Enjoy the breath-taking scenery at the Formal Gardens and Arboretum, this is situated to the west side of the Coombe Abbey Hotel. Known for their extravagant floral gardens, which ones will you spot?

Encounter the most beautiful countryside walks by checking out The Heron’s Way or Redwood Grove and Sowe Valley trail where you can discover Coombe Abbey’s historic woodland with plenty of wildlife to explore.

Want to explore further? Why not go for a thrill in the treetops at GoApe? With incredible views, packed with lots of history, there’s an activity for everyone.

Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield

Take an adventure in Sutton Park located in the heart of The Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield.

With plenty to see and do, you can always head to the Visitors Centre to find out about their exhibitions or our favourite, the 5 kilometre nature walking trail. The park is home to many different species, you will even spot a wild pony along the way giving you a jam packed walk!

After a fun-filled stroll around the park, why not sail and canoe at Powell’s Pool with the Sutton Sailing Club, you might even discover a few fish along the way. Perfect to capture those picture perfect moments too!

Finish your day off back at the Visitors Centre where you can unwind and dine on some good old grub!

Hop on to the 604 or the 77A to get to Sutton Park.
