There’s plenty to be getting involved with in Brum this Spring and Summer, why not explore the Birmingham 2022 Festival? Make this a year to remember and be part of the biggest celebrations happening in the heart of Birmingham, taking place from now until Friday 30th September 2022. 

What's going on? 

The Canal & River Trust

Follow the festival with The Canal & River Trust and immerse yourself with Artismo, presenting the most exquisite arts captured on the canal boats as well as street arts. 

Why not discover the revolution and transformation of our most astonishing canals in the heart of Birmingham? There will be plenty of stories to show and tell as well as boat tours, street trails and more you can get involved with, so explore the history of canals with Past:Present! 

Don’t forget, this event is completely free and here until September 2022.

Bollywood Divas

Want to experience the flavour of Bollywood? Then save the date as Bollywood’s entertainment icon Davar brings his dance tribute to life at the Birmingham Hippodrome. 

From mesmerising visuals, to stunning choreography the Bollywood Divas will be paying tribute to leading legends including Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai and even Priyanka Chopra. What’s not to love? Get your heart set on this spectacular show! 

Catch the Bollywood Divas at the Birmingham Hippodrome only on May 31st at 7:30pm. 

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Concert

Did you know our Queen will be the first British Monarch to celebrate 70 years on the throne? 

That's right! Through a selection of music throughout her reign including her favourite ‘My Fair Lady’ by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra on the 2nd June 2022 only at Symphony Hall. 

So what better way to enjoy your Bank Holiday weekend and celebrate the prestigious jubilee! Book your tickets here.

Birmingham’s Dance Festival

Get your dancing shoes on and tap into Birmingham's Dance Festival! For 3 fabulous weeks there’s plenty of talent to explore with a jam packed programme in store varying from traditional Ballet to a bit of Hip Hop Street Dancing. 

Look forward to Birmingham’s Royal Ballet at the Birmingham Hippodrome, or for a show stopping performance you cannot go wrong with Remembrances and for the best local talent make sure to check out Midlands Made! 

Guess what… The event is completely free to watch and participate in, find the festival at the following locations: Birmingham City Centre, Hansworth Park and Birmingham Hippodrome from 17th June 2022 until 3rd July 2022.

Flatpack Festival 

The first in-person Flatpack Festival returns to Birmingham!

Whether you’re in the mood for a comedy-fest, some amazing music, or fancy unwinding at the cinema for an iconic throwback with Sister Act 2, the Flatpack Festival has something for everyone to enjoy.

Don’t forget to check out the bar filled with delicious refreshments to get into the festival spirit!

Birmingham 2022 Opening and Closing Ceremonies

With the Ceremony taking place right on our doorstep, experience this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see it with over 1 billion people tuning in globally. 

As the ceremony is put together by Hamish Hamilton, a multi award winning broadcast director, expect the best talent and stunning performances from our local community.

Make sure to visit the Opening Ceremony on the 28th July 2022 at the newly revamped Alexander Stadium!
