What is Birmingham Film Festival?

Birmingham Film Festival is our city’s very own celebration of cinema from all over the world. Since 2016, the 10 day festival has been showcasing professional and independent films of all different genres and styles, while also offering seminars, Q&As and workshops from industry experts and professionals.

Launch Night - Friday 19th November (6pm)

Starting off with a bang at Millennium Point, the festival kicks-off with an evening of fun, music, socialising and media networking from 6pm till late.

Find out about the festival week ahead and get a taste of what’s to come. Plus, as a special bonus, the postponed 2020 award winners will be handed out.

The Festival - Saturday 20th November - Saturday 7th November

With 27 screenings of hundreds of short films, Birmingham Film Festival offers something for any cinema fan across the whole week. Hosted at Millennium Point and The Grand Hotel, these venues are familiar staples of Birmingham and are set to make you feel right at home while viewing.

Plus, with Q&As, workshops and seminars taking place all week too, you can really get to grips with life in the world of movies and filmmaking.

Local Film Night - Tuesday 23rd November (8pm)

Another big night for Birmingham takes place on the following Tuesday with a whole evening dedicated to locally produced films. Millennium Point will play host to eleven films all made in the midlands or by local talent.

Again, this is a free to attend evening and no ticket is required.

 

Awards Gala - Saturday 27th November (7pm)

Fancy celebrating the end of the festival in style? Then the Awards Gala is the night out for you. This black tie event held at the amazing Grand Hotel features entertainment, a three course meal, free prize giveaways and, of course, the award ceremony.
