Spon Lane South, Smethwick closure

On Friday 31st July 2026, from 7pm to 6am, Spon Lane South will be closed for carriageway resurfacing works. During this time, services 48, 49 & 80 will be diverted.

Services 48 & 49

Heading towards West Bromwich

Buses will be diverted from Mallin Street, right Oldbury Road, left Telford Way, left Kenrick Way, and right Spon Lane to rejoin the normal line of route.

Heading from West Bromwich

Buses will follow the reverse of the above route.

Service 80

Heading towards West Bromwich

Buses will be diverted from Fenton Way, second exit Telford Way, left Kenrick Way, and right Spon Lane to rejoin the normal line of route.

Heading towards Birmingham

Buses will follow the reverse of the above route.
