Summer’s here – and so is the fun! Whether you’re looking for family days out, foodie festivals, or live entertainment, the West Midlands has something for everyone this August. Here's your guide to the best events happening across the region.
16th July – 14th September, Birmingham
Spot 40 giant, artist-designed bull sculptures and 85 colourful calves across Birmingham – all raising funds for Birmingham Hospice. Bonus challenge: find our very own bus-themed bull - Blakey!
Several buses go to Birmingham city centre.
5th – 17th August, NEC
All the fun of the fair – indoors! Expect classic rides, family attractions, food, a café. A perfect summer holiday day out.

5th – 9th August, NEC Birmingham
The UK’s biggest beer festival hits the NEC! Sample hundreds of ales, ciders, craft beers, and more, plus live music and food stalls. Over 18s only.

16th August, Utilita Arena Birmingham
Ryder and the pups are live on stage in a heroic adventure for little ones!
Several services stop near the Utilita Arena.
August, Hockley Social Club
Dig into £1.50 chicken wings, take on hot wing challenges, and vote for your favourites. With DJs, BBQ demos, and live music, it’s a full-on foodie fest.
Catch either the 7, 16, 16A or 52 service to get you there and a take a short walk to the venue.
29th – 31st August, Moseley Park
A family-friendly weekend of folk music, comedy, crafts, and food in a scenic woodland spot. Expect big names, rising stars, and a chilled summer vibe.
Services 1 or 50 take you to Moseley.
23rd – 25th August, Across Birmingham
A free festival of live performances, pop-ups, and eye-catching street entertainment. Something for all ages, right in the heart of the city.
Loads of buses head into Birmingham city centre.
29th – 31st August, Digbeth
Experimental music, bold art, and boundary-pushing performances across Digbeth. Mostly 15+, but includes a brilliant family-friendly Kids Gig too.
Several services head into Digbeth via Birmingham.
