Talking all things Zero Emission Vehicles for World Environment Day.
It’s World Environment Day today Monday 5th June and to celebrate, we caught up with Tom Berry, our Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) Specialist, to talk all things ZEV.
Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), World Environment Day encourages awareness and action for the protection of our planet. As a leading public transport provider, not only do we play a key role in keeping people connected, we also play a big role in protecting our environment.
Encouraging more people to ditch their cars and switch to the bus is vital to tackling climate change.
If everyone in the UK switched just one car journey a month to bus, there would be a billion fewer car journeys and a saving of 2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide per year.
We’re proud to be leading the way with more and more sustainable transport choices for our new and existing customers and want to make sure the vehicles you're switching to are safe for the environment. That’s why we’ve committed to a fully zero emission bus fleet by 2030.
As our Zero Emissions Vehicle Specialist, Tom regularly trials zero emission vehicles across our bus network to make sure they’re a good fit for our customers and drivers, whilst helping to protect our planet. But what are zero emission vehicles, what are the benefits, and what happens when we trial them? Watch his video to find out more…
