In our latest blog post, we will be interviewing Briyan, one of our Customer Relations Executives. Read more to find out Briyan’s favourite things about working in our bus business.
Favourite seat on a bus? The rear seats on a bus - Downstairs gets the best breeze in the summer!
Double deck or single deck? Double deck, I love how there is more space and seats to choose from.
Favourite feature on a bus? USB charger ports, I can charge on the go and they are really convenient!
What is your favourite colour on a bus? Definitely grey, it looks really snazzy on a bus.
I am the father of 3 boys. I’m a DJ and Radio Presenter in my spare time. I love sports, especially rugby. And I love to cook and BBQ. I am also a member of the world famous Bearded Brummies, which is a group that raises awareness for mental health.
I have worked for National Express for nearly 3 years and in my current role being a Customer Relations Executive for just over a year.
I have always used buses, so definitely yes!
I worked in the hospitality sector and wanted a new challenge. I saw the National Express job opening as a chance to learn and progress in a new career.
An average day is never the same! I help customers with enquiries and problems they may have, with the aim to resolve them, and get the best possible result I can. It really helps that I love helping people, and like to find the best solution possible.
It means the ability to travel anywhere in Birmingham, and the West Midlands, freely and comfortably (not that I'm biased!)
11A/C due to it being one of Birmingham's most iconic routes.
It's been difficult at times but thankfully the company helped us adapt and be able to continue doing our roles during the pandemic. This in turn made lockdown and working considerably easier.
My Dad, who unfortunately isn't with us anymore, but he always said ‘to not let stuff rattle you, and no matter what it will get easier.’ Another favourite quote of his was ‘to go with the flow’, and I always try my best to do as he said.
