Activating your Swift purchase

How do I activate the Swift product on my card?

Once you have bought your Swift product, you will need to 'collect' it to your card. This loads your product, whether its a season ticket, some e-Daysavers or even Pay As You Go credit, onto the actual Swift card. 

There are two ways for you to do this:

1. A Swift Collector
2. The Swift App

Swift Collectors

As Swift Collector allows you to load the product, credit or top-up that you have bought, onto you Swift Card. There are 80 of these located in various places across the West Midlands and available to use at any time of day.


The Swift App

Activate your ticket or top-up from wherever you are with the Swift App on your Android mobile or tablet.

The App is free to download from the Google Play store and works on most NFC enable Android mobiles and tablet. Click here to go directly to the app page on Google Play.

The App is simple to use. 

Step 1: Open up the app and place your Swift Card onto the back of the device, make sure you hold your card onto the back of your device, until the process is finished. 

Step 2: If you already have any products loaded onto your card, these will be displayed on the app.

Step 3: If you want to collect any waiting products or top-ups that you have bought, just click the 'Check for updates' button (make sure your card is still on the back of the device.)

Step 4: Once the app tells you your products have been successfully collected, you can use these for your journey!

Can I use an Apple device?

Apple do not currently allow us to access the NFC element of their devices. This means that it isn't possible for you to collect Swift products on your Apple device at this time.
